Privacy notice

Last updated October 2026

The short version. When you ask for free Day 1, we collect your email address and consent so we can send it and occasional course notes. If you buy, we receive the purchase details needed to deliver your files and provide purchase and delivery support. If you allow advertising measurement, Meta’s pixel records when you open our home page or the two free Day 1 pages; it is off until you choose and never runs on the order confirmation page. Separately, Stripe tells Meta when a purchase completes. We don’t sell or rent your information. You can ask what we hold about you and request deletion, subject to records we must keep by law.

1. Who we are

This site and The Usable AI Playbook are operated by Enrique Rivas Creel, of 969 Beachview Drive, North Vancouver, British Columbia V7G 1P8, Canada.

We are responsible for the personal information described here. You can reach us at hello@norvane.ca.

2. What we collect

Only what we need. Most of it you give us. The last item is collected automatically.

We do not receive anything you type into an AI tool while doing the course. The worksheets in the Toolkit save your answers in your own browser, on your own computer — that information is never sent to us and we cannot see it.

3. Why we collect it

We do not sell your information or use it to make decisions about you.

The Day 1 form asks for your express consent to receive the guide and occasional course notes. If you buy or contact us, we use the information you provide to complete that request, meet our legal obligations, and provide support.

You can withdraw marketing consent at any time without affecting your purchase or access to files already delivered.

Advertising measurement is a separate choice, and a separate control. The first time you visit a page that can load Meta’s pixel, we ask. Nothing loads until you answer, declining takes one click, and the Tracking choices link in the footer of those pages brings the question back whenever you want to change your answer. Saying no to advertising measurement does not affect Day 1, your purchase, or your files.

5. Who else sees it

Five kinds of service provider may handle your information on our behalf:

These providers may store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States, which means it can be subject to the laws of those countries. We choose providers that commit to protecting it, but we cannot put it beyond the reach of a foreign court order.

There is no third-party marketing platform. The free Day 1 list is not handed to a mailing company; it sits in our own storage, and every message — Day 1 and the course notes — goes out from our own address through the email provider named above. If that ever changes we will name the company here before a single message goes out through it.

We never sell, rent or trade your personal information. We do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.

6. Payment details

Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details go straight to Stripe and are handled under their terms and privacy policy. We never see or store your full card number. What we receive is a record that a payment succeeded, and the email address to deliver to.

7. How long we keep it

8. Your rights

You can ask us, at any time, to:

Email hello@norvane.ca and we will deal with it within 30 days. We will not ask you why, and asking us to delete your information will never affect any legal right or remedy available to you.

9. Unsubscribing

Every email we send you about the course, starting with Day 1 itself, carries a working unsubscribe link. Opening it shows a page with one button; the link alone never removes you, so a spam filter following it cannot unsubscribe you by accident. If a link ever fails, email us and we will remove you by hand.

When you unsubscribe we keep a minimal record that you did, so a later import or a mistyped form cannot put you back on the list. That record holds your address and the date, nothing else.

Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop purchase delivery or replies to a support request you sent us.

10. Security

This site is served over HTTPS, and our providers hold your information in access-controlled systems. No system is perfectly secure, so we keep as little as possible — which is the most effective protection available to a business our size.

If a breach ever occurred that created a real risk of significant harm to you, we would tell you and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, as the law requires.

11. Cookies

This site sets no cookies of its own. It stores one small setting in your own browser — your answer to the advertising-measurement question — so we do not ask again on every page. That setting stays on your device and is never sent to us.

Visit counting runs for everyone, and stores nothing on your device. Cloudflare counts how many times each page here is opened, recording the page address, the time, the rough region the request came from and the kind of browser and device. It sets no cookie, writes nothing to your device and reads nothing back, and the counts we see name nobody. Cloudflare already receives your address in order to serve these pages at all; the counting adds no new recipient. We need it because the advertising pixel below is optional and most people decline it, which leaves us unable to tell how many people reached a page at all. There is no switch for it because there is nothing on your side to switch off.

If you allow advertising measurement, Meta’s pixel loads on the home page and the two free Day 1 pages. It records a page view there, and a lead event when you complete the free signup. It may set cookies of Meta’s own, under Meta’s privacy terms. It does not load at all until you allow it, it does not load on the order confirmation page in any case, and declining or later withdrawing keeps it from loading again.

Purchase reporting does not go through your browser. Stripe reports a completed purchase to Meta from its own systems, which is why the order confirmation page carries no pixel and why declining advertising measurement in your browser does not stop a purchase being counted. If you would rather it were not, email us and we will tell you what we can do about it.

12. Children

This is a product for people running a business. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

13. Changes to this notice

If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. If the change is significant and you are on our list, we will tell you by email rather than hoping you re-read the page.

14. Contact and complaints

Questions, requests or complaints: hello@norvane.ca, or write to us at 969 Beachview Drive, North Vancouver, British Columbia V7G 1P8, Canada.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled a privacy matter, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca, or to your provincial privacy regulator where one applies.
